課程介紹
The aims of this course are (1) to provide knowledge of principles and methodology of plant taxonomy, scientific names, plant characters and plant diversity, (2) to teach how to use keys and identify plants, and (3) help students to understand plant phylogeny and evolution. For identification, the ‘family’ level of local flora is focused. This course will train students with abilities and skills of plant classification and diversity, and establish a fundamental basis for further study, self-learning, conservation and research.
This course is coordinated with a lab. There are two parts included. The first part comprising the history, concepts, principles, nomenclature of plant taxonomy and characters of plant morphology. The second part introducing plant diversity based on the level of ‘family’, especially for local flora.
