Community engagement (CE) is high on the Government agenda in the UK, US and Taiwan, and matches the mission of public libraries. This module will be delivered through lectures, class discussion, tutorials, work-based investigation and reports. This module aims to introduce and engage students in the CE agenda; produce students with a firm strategic, practical and theoretical grounding in terms of understanding communities and working with them; and equip students to inform, design, develop and assess CE initiatives in their working environment after graduation.
