課程介紹
This class has two basic parts (100% online--NO CLASS DAY/TIME):
1. The tools needed to collect, organize research references, and then build your thesis, as well as organizing your research time. Emphasis is placed on open source software to help anyone get up to speed on thesis writing based on APA or MLA guidelines. Each week we also practice actual research writing, with online assignments and feedback from the professor.
Overall, this is an ACTION oriented class, Learning By Doing! Software tools covered include: LibreOffice, Zotero, GanttProject, Dia, while MS Word's style sheets are also covered.
2. Presentation skills is the second half of this class. Seven central presentation skills are emphasized. Emphasis is on practicing the skills, with detailed feedback from the professor through the use of video recording in the Marketing Dpt. Consumer Lab. In this half of the semester,students will make presentations that are green screened, resulting in professional looking videos that can be used by students in future job hunts, such as inclusion in electronic resumes.
