課程介紹
This course will explore the issues and techniques involved in drafting legal documents. Students will develop an understanding of how to draft clear and comprehensive legal documents for business transactions through a series of drafting assignments. Drafting assignments may include a CV, an informative memo, and a business contract. The course will also provide students the skills of negotiation and interview a client by in-class role play. Students must make a video recording of a client interview activity.
Students will be graded based on four written assignments and class participation. Because simulations and class participation are such a significant component of the course, regular attendance is required. Written assignments and class participation will not be graded anonymously.
Although there is no formal prerequisite, interested in practicing legal English is crucial for this class. Students with enthusiasm in improving their legal English are encouraged to take this class.
