    midterm presentation info
    Dear All,
     
    Give a 10 mins. presentation on any topic of your interest. And follow the guidelines below when preparing:
     
    -- think about what may excite or interest your audience
    -- delete info unrelated to the topic
    -- organize the structure of your talk (= what should be said first, or later)
    -- include only key words, not long sentences, on each slide
    -- make eye contact with the audience
    -- practice and practice and practice!
     
    The presentation starts from 4/18 (10 speakers),
    then 4/25 (4 speakers; 4/25 class starts at 11:00),
    5/2 (4 speakers; 5/2 class starts at 11:00),
    5/9 (3 speakers; 5/9 class starts at 10:50),
    5/16 (3 speakers; 5/16 class starts at 10:50),
    5/23 (3 speakers; 5/23 class starts at 10:50),
    5/30 (3 speakers; 5/30 class starts at 10:50),
    and finally on 6/6 (3 speakers; 6/6 class starts at 10:50).
     
    Speakers should have your files ready on the classroom computer before 10:10 on the presentation day.

      Evaluation--
      1. motivation & participation 40%
      2. unit 7~12 online assignments (complete all the assignments by May 15 noon) 15%
      3. midterm & final exams 45%
      4. You are allowed to be absent for 6 hours at most for all reasons this semester:

      Being late for over 30 min/leaving 30 min early is seen as absenteeism.
      If you're absent for 7 hours, 7 points will be deducted from the semester score.
      If you're absent for 8 hours, 10 points will be deducted from the semester score.
      If you're absent for 9 hours, 15 points will be deducted from the semester score.
      If you're absent for 10 hours, 20 points will be deducted from the semester score, and so on.
